My client brought in an amazing photo of his gradmother actualy being evacuated from the school during WWII (you can swipe left to see the original) and this is what i came up with to represent it. Lately i've been trying to strip the tattoo process to the bare minimum it's a lot easier to complicate things than simplify them this is done using only black only black and shaded with one fine needle i found that this ensured that what you see is what you get when it's healed.
